Fix-it Cream SPF25 — Horse Sunscreen, Mud Fever Treatment & Skin Balm in One

Made by HorsePlay in New Zealand, Fix-it Cream SPF25 is the one tub that earns its place in every tack box, every month of the year. A chemical-free horse sunscreen, a mud fever treatment cream, and a soothing balm for minor cuts and grazes — all in a single 250g tub.

Over winter: Mud fever and rain scald are distressing for horse and owner alike. Fix-it Cream softens and lifts scabs, acts as a protective barrier while skin heals, and soothes with aloe vera and Vitamin E. Particularly effective for horses prone to mud fever on white legs in NZ’s wet winters.

Over summer: Apply to white noses, ears, white socks, and the bulbs of the hoof to help protect against sunburn. Unlike most horse sunblock creams, Fix-it Cream stays put through grazing — you won’t find it worn off after several hours in the paddock. Ideal horse sun protection for NZ’s high UV conditions.

All year round: Minor cuts, grazes, and skin irritations respond well to the antimicrobial, moisturising base. One tub, multiple uses.

No chemical sunscreens. No PABA. No synthetic fragrance. Contains zinc, aloe vera, and Vitamin E. Waterproof. Complies with AS/NZS 2604:2012 SPF testing.

$38 for a 250g tub — includes GST and free delivery within New Zealand.

How to use:

Mud fever: Apply liberally to scabs and massage in gently — many scabs will lift in this process. Leave 24 hours, then remove remaining softened scabs. Repeat daily as needed. If swelling or inflammation is present, consult your vet to rule out secondary infection.

Sunblock for horses: Apply liberally to all sun-exposed areas and rub in well. Reapply as needed. Shade and nose/ear guards are also recommended through summer.
